Ideas To Rekindle That Spark
Here are 20 ideas for putting the spice and spark back into your marriage. All it takes is a little imagination, says author Gregory J.P. Godek in his book "1001 Ways to Be Romantic."
- Identify the one pivotal event that brought the two of you together. Celebrate that event every year.
- Give him a Victoria's Secret catalog with a note saying, "You choose, I'll buy."
- Get your mate a watch, inscribed: "I always have time for you."
- Following a bubble bath that you've prepared for her, wrap her in a warm towel that you've heated in the dryer.
- Have "your song" playing on the stereo when your mate returns from work.
- Eat breakfast by candlelight -- a unique variation on the dinner-by-candlelight theme.
- Cut a big piece of cardboard out of a huge box and make a giant "I love you" card.
- Visit a Karakoe bar and surprise your lover by getting up and singing "your song."
- Pick flowers for your partner from the roadside.
- Spend an entire day together watching romantic movies.
- Buy your partner a lottery ticket with a note: "I hit the jackpot when I married you."
- If you're not much of a writer, create an audio love letter on tape. Then gift wrap it.
- Call your partner from work on Wednesday and formally ask for a date for the weekend.
- Mail your partner a Rolodex card with your name and number on it. Write: "Your instant resource for love. Call when lonely."
- Write "I love you" on the bathroom mirror with a piece of soap.
- Spread flower petals all over the bathroom.
- Ladies: Send a letter sealed with a lipstick kiss.
- Hold hands when you're out together, even if just walking into the grocery store.
- Call your partner from work for no other reason than to say "I love you."
- Give a dozen roses with a creative twist: 11 red and one white with a note saying, "In every bunch there is one who stands out."
