Buckeyes, Buckeyes, and More Buckeyes
01-07-2008

The BIG day is here. The Ohio State Buckeyes taking on the LSU Tigers in the National Championship Game. Today was mostly about the Bucks and we gave away buckeye candy from Shirk's. Wayne Rowe from OSUM even stopped by to talk football and the local campus. GO BUCKS!!

Nearly Impossible Trivia Question
Tracy Conley was the big winner today. She picked up a wireless mouse for her computer. It was tough as the first two callers answered incorrectly, giving Tracy the obvious left-over answer. Who would have thought so many people would want a wireless mouse.

Question: What percentage of Americans say that dinner is their biggest meal of the day?

Answer: 56%.

We do the contest everyday at 6:40 a.m. so get ready to call 387-WDCM(9326).

Buckeye Giveaway From Shirk's
Shirk's Candies, 1235 South Prospect Street in Marion, gave us three boxes of candy buckeyes on give away on the show. They were a big hit, but only three lucky listeners took home the sweet prizes.

Congrats to Megan Betz, Pam Sexton, and Shasta.

National Press Has Not Love For Buckeyes
It isn't a big surprise that the national press has no love for OSU. They have been putting them down all year. Even now for the national championship game, they are bashing the #1 team in the land, saying they shouldn't even be there.

If you haven't heard all the bashing, the following article was released Sunday by the Associated Press.

Why LSU will win the BCS national championship
By BRETT MARTEL, AP Sports Writer
LSU played like a juggernaut when the season began, defeating eventual bowl teams Mississippi State and Virginia Tech by a combined score of 93-7 in its first two games.

Even while hampered by key injuries in midseason, the only games LSU lost were in triple overtime to Southeastern Conference foes with winning records.

The Tigers have had five weeks to get healthy for the BCS title game on Monday, meaning they'll be too much for Ohio State.

Weather Kid
Today's Weather Kid was Keith Griffin. A well spoken young man who said that his teacher was a good teacher. When asked if he was saying that because she was standing right next to him, he said, "She is my teacher." Not good...just his teacher.

You can download Weather Kids and listen to them any time on your computer, just click here.

Coming Up
On Tuesday we'll either be celebrating a great victory, or moaning about a Buckeye loss. Let's hope for happy times as we will all be tired from staying up way too late.
