Double Shots, Driving Men Crazy, How A Man Licks 08-03-2007
Women drive men crazy (I know, big shock, right?), how to eat yourself happy and healthy, and how a man licks tells you about his personality. Today was also our first Double Shot Friday. Thanks to those who called in to request their favorite songs.
Double Shot Friday Certainly not a new idea in radio, but we played double shots this morning. Either the same group, the same song by different artists, or songs that were related in some way, we played them back to back most of the morning.
Thanks to Jamie who called in to request Chris Rice's "When Did You Fall In Love" and a our choice of a second song. We played "So Much For My Sad Song", a cut off his latest album just released in July. The album is called "What a Heart is Beating For". What is it with this guy and long titles?
We even broke down and played requests from Karen, our Friday co-host.
Kathy also called in, but I couldn't find her requests fast enough. I know, I'm a loser. But I haven't forgotten and we'll play her request next Friday. If you have a request, just email me or call in to the show.
Things Women Do That Drive Men Crazy Men love women. The way they look, smell, walk and talk are just some of the reasons why we consider them a divine species. Yet we can't live with them, and we certainly can't live without them.
Here are the top 10 things women do that drive men to the brink of insanity, according to iVillage.com and AskMen.com.
- Pretend to be virtuous
- Criticize other women
- Act jealous
- Become needy
- Speak in code
- Invade our personal space
- Become too emotional
- Shop till they drop
- Talk incessantly
- Use sex as a weapon
Eat Yourself Happy The Healthy Way You can dispel any bad mood by eating or drinking the right all natural remedy. "The food you eat can effect your mood," says dietician Elizabeth Somer, author of "Food & Mood: The Complete Guide to Eating Well and Feeling Your Best."
- Say you're down in the dumps and nothing seems able to cheer you up. Eat a chocolate bar - it's a definite mood booster. If you're counting calories, eat something rich in omega-3 fatty acids, like salmon or walnuts. The nutrient is clinically proven to banish depression.
- Feeling nervous? A glass of wine will calm you down, but so will complex carbohydrates, like whole-grain breads or cereal. They'll raise your levels of the feel-good hormone serotonin.
- If you're worried about work, a relationship or your health, the last time you want to do is eat. But nutrition will stabilize your mood, especially the kind you get from crunchy, raw vegetables like carrots or apples.
- You can banish sluggishness by eating protein, the leaner the better. Peanut butter is a good bet and so is a cup of yogurt.
How A Man Licks Says Something About Him Cosmopolitan got the sexy scoop on what your man's cone-eating habit reveals about his inner cravings.
- The Swirler -- This stud eats his ice cream methodically, licking around the cone in perfect cirecles. A swirler thrives on having order in his life. Though men of this type are not particularly spontaneous or wild, they're tenacious about pleasing you.
- The Biter -- A chomping cutie boldy bites into his scoop. Men who feel the need to use their teeth to eat certain foods, like ice cream, when it's not really necessary are marking their territory. They tend to be alpha men who are into appearing masculine.
- The Top-Lopper -- Mr. Instant-gratification, this guy sucks the top half of the cone in one fell swoop. Men like this who don't exercise much self-control when they're consuming food tend to be prone to excess, monetarily and otherwise.
- The Savorer -- This dude gets so caught up enjoying his cone that he lets the ice cream drip onto his hands and licks it off primal-style. Men who savor their food like this tend to be the most sensual. Their poetic flaw? They lose track of time.
