Women's Work, Ungrateful Weather Kid, Making Love Last
06-05-2007

Gail Martin from the Marion County Historical Society was in to talk about women's work, we had a special weather kid who did not have anything to say to his grandfather, and a guy on death row who is proving he deserves his sentence. Oh, and tips for guys to make love last.

Women's Work
Gail is unveiling the latest exhibit at the Marion County Historical Society this Thursday from 5 to 9 p.m. It's called Women's Work is Never Done.

The exhibit features work done by women throughout the years, from making their own clothes, including the cloth, to Rosie the Riveter, right up to today. There is even info on women in the military.

There is a nominal charge to attend Thursday's gala, but it's a fund raiser for the Society.

We also discussed the summer program for kids, Blast from the Past. Five programs, one each Thursday, during the summer and it's all FREE!.

Death Row Inmate Showing Who He Is
Patrick is just showing the world the kind of guy he his...one that probably deserves as much as anyone to be on death row.

Patrick is set for execution on June 26 for killing his neighbors ten years ago. Like all people who are executed, he gets a last statement, but he thought of a great twist...actually a hideous twist. Patrick is asking for jokes so that he can pick the best one and tell it just before he is put to death.

The really sad part isn't that this sick jerk is doing this, it's that he's already received over 250 jokes.

Weather Kid
The Weather Kid today called long distance just to be on the air. He is Coleman and is the grandson of WDCM's good friend and supporter Roger Ruth.

Coleman is a sports nut and absorbs everything sports related. Stats, news, rumors...Coleman knows it all.

Roger stopped in to lend support to Coleman, but Coleman decided he didn't have anything to say to his grandfather. Of course, Roger says this isn't surprising. Apparently when Coleman got a cell phone, his first call was not to Roger, the man who took him to an OSU/Michigan game, or to an NCAA Tournament game...no, it was to his grandmother.

Making Love Last
Guys, want to make your relationship last. Men's Health magazine has a list of tips to help you stay on your mate's good side. Here's a few...

  • When she fills out one of those quizzes in a women's magazine, read it.
  • Send her a postcard -- even when you're home.
  • Never agree with her mother when they're arguing.
  • Let her pick the movie once in a while.
  • Never bring up her weight.
  • Have 2 bathrooms.
  • Keep all her vital statistics on a card in your wallet--birthday, anniversary, dress size, lingerie size, favorite flowers.

Coming Up
On Wednesday we're talking Festival on the Green, the annual fundraiser for Marion Catholic. I have no idea who the guest will be, but we'll learn all about this year's event.
